Sacrifice and the Body beyond Metaphysics

Workshop and lecture held on November 2-3, 2023 at IWM library.

This workshop examined the concept of sacrifice and its relationship to the body from the perspectives of philosophy, theology, and film. The event was opened by a lecture by Yvonne Sherwood titled “Sacrifice and Natality: Surrogacy Structures.” The workshop on the next day featured papers by Caecilie Varslev Pedersen (University of Copenhagen, Denmark), Isabella Guanzini (KU Linz), Luka Trebežnik (Science and Research Centre, Koper), Robert Yelle (LMU Munich), Dietmar Regensburger (University of Innsbruck) and Gertrud Koch (Free University, Berlin).
